Arriving in Paris
Landing at 11:00 a.m. in Paris the day before PFW means a full day of hitting the ground running. After grabbing a taxi from Charles de Gaulle to the stunning Plaza Athénée, we quickly dropped our bags and set out in search of a cup of coffee (or rather a “cafe au lait” as we say here in Paris).
With little time to shop or sightsee, we made a beeline from coffee to the Eiffel Tower to snap a few pictures along the Seine while the sun was still shining and before the frigid turned to freezing. The best way to beat the icy temps: these Dior leather pants (whose beautiful counterpart – a matching jacket – is not pictured), and a Dior cropped fur layered over my favorite pinstriped Dior button-down.
With much to do before tomorrow’s Dior show, we headed back to the Plaza Athénée to sort outfits before heading to dinner at Balagan, where Mediterranean meets Parisian (pro-tip: start with the deconstructed kebab and the calamari) in a beautiful space with the best upbeat music of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. If you’re looking for a fun, chic spot – this is the place.
