Inside the Dior Fall 2017 Haute Couture Show
July 3 marked the day of the Dior Autumn/Winter 2017-18 Haute Couture Show and I was lucky enough to attend the festivities at the entrance of Les Invalides (the military museum where Napoleon is buried).
We slept in this day because we knew it was going to be very busy—fashion shows require lots of beauty rest! A makeup artist from Dior did my makeup in my hotel room and a car picked us up to ferry us to the show.
It was so surreal to walk in front of the paparazzi line at the entrance—talk about feeling like a celeb! (Though my real celeb sighting was Celine Dion looking stunning at the show. The best part? She was so nice!)
My favorite pieces on the runway were Look 10 (which is actually a wide-leg jumpsuit), Look 19 (that amazing sculptural collar!) and Look 35 (the blanket wrap has the most beautiful colors). Click here to see all of the beautiful looks in Vogue.
What I Wore
I wore a Dior tulle T-shirt with my astrological sign—Pisces, baby!—embroidered on the front in gold. I paired it with a long, light blue tulle skirt with gold embroidered bees, a Dior skinny belt I bought here in Paris, nude Dior slingbacks and my ivory Lady Dior bag with gold studs. I finished off the look with a Dior black ribbon choker with a gold star (check out my previous post on Dior’s Haute Joaillerie collection).
Beauty and the Heat
I’m especially glad I picked this outfit because it was a very warm day and the show ended up—surprise!—being outside and anything heavier would have been much too hot. (See, you can be fashionable and practical. Plus, I’m so in love with this skirt!)
Next on the agenda? Dior’s 70th Anniversary Party! Check back on Thursday!
